A delegation from the Singaporean People’s Association led by its Chief Executive Director Ang Hak Seng had a working session with the Hanoi chapter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on October 31.
Chairman of the chapter Dao Van Binh briefed the guests on the front’s programmes and activities over the past time, which have helped strengthen solidarity in residential areas and popularised the Party and State’s policies, guidelines and laws to people.
Ang Hak Seng expressed his hope to intensify cooperation with Hanoi. The two sides should exchange experience in educating people to abide by the law, implementing campaigns for unity and civilised lifestyle, and canvassing them to help each other deal with disaster impact and overcome poverty.
He also spoke highly of the municipal front’s role in promoting the mastery of the people and helping them participate in the supervision of the authority’s activities, adding that Singapore can learn from the front’s experience.-VNA
