Singapore (VNA) – Singaporean travelers to the US will be treated with faster immigration checks with the recent launch of a joint programme entitled “US-Singapore Trusted Traveller Programme” (TPP).
Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) unveiled that the TPP programme allows eligible citizens of the two countries to enjoy immigration clearance via automated clearance kiosks at the major traveler entry points into both countries.
To savour from the programme, Singaporeans need to make online registration on the US’s Global Entry Programme, and approved applicants will undergo an interview at the US Embassy in Singapore. After approval, travelers can bypass the regular passport control queues at regular US airports and via versa.
Singapore is the first ASEAN country to be given access to the programme, which forms part of the Trans-Pacific-Partnership (TPP) agreement.
