
Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Railways Corporation(VNR) is set to put six new passenger trains into operation on the North-Southroute on January 10, 2018, in an effort to improve service quality.
VNR said on the opening day, passengers will geta 10-percent discount on tickets for these trains.
It noted the trains are the combined products ofrailway, aviation, shipbuilding and auto industries. They were made fromhigh-quality materials by modern technologies.
In the carriages with beds, each passengerposition is equipped with a book light and a USB port for phone charging. Inother carriages, passengers can adjust their seats and air conditioningdevices.
Book shelves and electronic screens are alsoinstalled on the trains to serve passengers, VNR said.
It added that the firm will also pilot servingfree airline-standard meals on its trains from January 10. This is one of thenew services VNR and the Southern Airports Services Joint Stock Companycoordinate to provide on VNR trains.-VNA
