SK ecoplant, BCG Energy to develop renewable energy projects in Vietnam

BCG Energy, a member of Bamboo Capital Vietnam, has freshly signed a cooperation agreement with SK ecoplant, one of the Republic of Korea's leading investors in renewable energy, to build a solar and wind power plant with a capacity of 700 MW in Vietnam.

Seoul (VNA) - BCG Energy, a member of Bamboo Capital Vietnam, has freshlysigned a cooperation agreement with SK ecoplant, one of the Republic of Korea'sleading investors in renewable energy, to build a solar and wind power plantwith a capacity of 700 MW in Vietnam.

Through the deal signed in Seoul on March 22, the twocompanies will jointly develop the 700 MW project, which is designed to consistof 300MW of onshore wind power, 300MW of rooftop solar power, and 100MW ofonshore solar power.

As of December 2023, BCG Energy's total renewable energycapacity in operation neared 700MW. The company is currently deploying anadditional 229MW and plans to develop 670 more MW in the future.

SK ecoplant, a subsidiary of SK Group, meanwhile, aims toseek out renewable energy projects with significant potential, including windpower production in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.

Kim Jung-hoon, CEO of the company's factory solutionsbusiness unit, stated that with its diverse experience and specialisedtechnical capabilities, SK ecoplant will be able to fully utilise Vietnam'sabundant renewable energy resources. The company is committed to contributingto global carbon reduction efforts and leading the way in addressing climateissues based on the renewable energy value chain./.
