Son La (VNA) – Representatives from the Veterans’ Associations of the northwestern province of Son La and Lao province of Oudomxay met at a conference in Son La on October 22 to exchange experience inveteran affairs.
The two sides discussed issues related to veterans’ engagement in Party and Government building and the maintaining of political stability in each locality, as well as movements of mutual support among veterans in poverty reduction.
They also exchanged experience in implementing socio-economic development programme in their localities.
The two associations agreed to intensify collaboration in the future. Accordingly, both sides will continue working closely in popularizing the traditional solidarity, special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples as well as the two provinces.
They will share experience in household economic development, especially in promoting hi-tech agriculture, while increasing the exchange of information in seeking remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Oudomxay.
The two associations will also join hands in protecting security and order in each locality.
In the afternoon, the delegates visited a number of economic development models of members of the Son La Veterans’ Association./.
