Pretoria (VNA) – General Secretary of the South African Communist Party (SACP) Blade Nzimande has extended his warmest greetings to Vietnam over the upcoming 12th National Party Congress slated for January 20-28.
The SACP, the oldest and largest party in Africa , wishes the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)’s 12th National Party Congress a success, he wrote.
The significant event is concurrent with the 41st anniversary of Vietnam’s victory over imperialist invaders.
The congratulatory message was handed over to Vietnamese Ambassador Le Huy Hoang by chief officer of the SACP’s Central Committee, Reneva Fourie.
The Vietnamese people’s victory under the CPV’s leadership has inspired hope for communists and peace-loving progressive forces worldwide, Blaze Nzimande wrote, adding that the SACP highly values the CPV’s role in the struggle against invaders, and the national construction at present.
At the meeting, Ambassador Hoang updated Fourie about Vietnam’s latest developments, including preparations for the 12th National Party Congress and the socio-economic progresses.
Fourie shared SACP’s policy priorities and its unity with members of the ruling alliance, including the African National Congress and the Congress of South African Trade Unions to ensure their joint success in the local administration election slated for this May.
Both sides also touched on regional and global issues of shared concern, and discussed measures to further intensify solidarity and friendship between the two Parties, contributing to the two countries’ cooperation.-VNA
