A gathering marking the 35 th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam (April 30) was held at the Moscow High School Number 282 where many Vietnamese pupils study.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Bui Dinh Dinh, Honorary President of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association Evgheny Glazunov, the schools headmistress Irina Egorova, former Russian military specialists who served in Vietnam and hundreds of teachers and pupils attended the gathering on April 28.
The 1975 Spring Great Victory was a great achievement for both nations, said Dinh, referring to the Soviet Union’s valuable support to Vietnam during the struggle against the US invaders.
For her part, Ms Egorova congratulated the Vietnamese people on their victory, lauded their heroism and bravery and stressed on the gathering’s educational significance to her pupils.
Several of the former Russian specialists to Vietnam also praised late President Ho Chi Minh and spoke highly of the victory, revolutionary heroism, diligence and creativity of the Vietnamese people./.
