Leaders of Can Tho city and the Steering Committee for the Southwestern Region held a working session on June 5 with the heads of Vietnamese diplomatic missions who are undertaking their duty in the 2015-2018 tenure.

They briefed the guests on the socio-economic situation of the southwest region and Can Tho city, wishing the diplomats would actively introduce the region’s potential and advantages and help call for investments to Can Tho and other localities in the Mekong Delta.

The steering committee requested the diplomats facilitate trade and investment promotion activities and focus on high-demand fields like transport infrastructure, support industry, logistics services, agricultural product processing and climate change response.

They were also asked to provide information on the socio-economic situation and investment cooperation demands of their host country for the region.
