Spain’s Ambassador to Vietnam spoke highly of cooperation prospects between his country and Vietnam at a seminar on the two countries’ relations held in Hanoi on Jan. 22.

Ambassador Fernando Cursio Ruigomez stated that the visit to Spain by Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet in last December was a factor in boosting ties and a foundation to concretise cooperation between the two governments, as well as implement signed agreements.

During that visit, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding that Spain will provide 500 million EUR to a project to build a metro route in Ho Chi Minh City .
