Standing Committee to convene 22nd session

The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee is scheduled to hold its 22nd session in Hanoi from October 10-15 to discuss a wide range of important issues.
The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee is scheduled to hold its 22nd session in Hanoi from October 10-15 to discuss a wide range of important issues.

Members of the committee will give opinions on the Government’s reports on the implementation of socio-economic development plan and State budget estimates for 2013, the 2011-2015 socio-economic development plan, and the socio-economic development plan and State budget estimates and allocations for 2014.

They will also look into a report on the three-year implementation of the national target programmes and another on hydroelectric master plan.

Members will comment on the issuance of Government bonds to fund the upgrading of National Highway No1 and National Highway No14 as well as on the outcomes of the implementation of the master plan on economic restructuring.

They are expected to voice their opinions on the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution and preparations for the sixth session of the 13th National Assembly, the last sitting in this year.

The Government’s documents on Vietnam’s participation in the Cape Town Convention and Aircraft Protocol and the country’s signing of the UN Convention Against Torture, among others, will also be tabled during the session.

Other topics up for discussion will be the draft revised Law on Bidding, the draft law on the amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Vietnam People’s Army Officers and the draft Law on Public Security (amended).

Committee members are scheduled to adopt a resolution on amendments and supplements to several articles of Resolution No. 928/2010/UBTVQH10 on taxes for natural resources.-VNA
