The State Audit of Vietnam has said it will continue to improve the quality of auditing and raise its operational efficiency.
The agency highlighted its resolve at a conference in Hanoi on July 11 to review the sector’s performance in the first half of this year and set out orientations for the remaining months.
Accordingly, in the coming time, the sector said it will pay attention to increasing internal inspections and enhancing the capacity of auditors.
Since early this year, the State Audit has made comprehensive and important achievements in all areas, especially in raising auditors’ sense of responsibility, administrative reform and ensuring the quality of its inspections.
Under the sector’s plan for 2013, the State Audit’s Inspection Section will evaluate how units and leaders at four regional State Audit agencies implement democratic regulations and the campaign against corruption.
By June 30, 75 of the 143 checks set out for this year had been conducted and five auditing reports published.
The conference pointed out difficulties hindering large-scale checks, especially those to inspect local budgets.
On July 11, the State Audit launched a campaign calling on its employees to make achievements to celebrate the 19th founding anniversary of the auditing sector.-VNA
