Vietnam's total state budget revenue for 2024 is projected to surpass 2.02 quadrillion VND (approximately 79.24 billion USD), marking an increase of 19.1% compared to the estimate, according to the Ministry of Finance.
The General Department of Taxation on November 7 reported that the total state budget collection of the sector in January – October was estimated at over 1.4 quadrillion VND (55.18 billion USD), or 94.8% of the annual projection and up 16.3% against the same time last year.
The total revenue calculated in Hanoi’s budget was 379 trillion VND (15.3 billion USD) from January – September, a year-on-year increase of 23.1%, the Hanoi Statistics Office said on October 3.
State budget collection from Vietnam’s export-import activities reached 200.46 trillion VND (8.35 billion USD) in the first half of 2024, equivalent to 53.5% of the target and up 8.4% year-on-year, said the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) on July 9.
The General Department of Taxation on June 5 reported that the total State budget collection of the tax sector in the first five months of this year was estimated at 767.41 trillion VND (30.19 billion USD), equivalent to 51.6% of the yearly projection and representing a year-on-year rise of 14.9%.
Total state budget collection in the first five months of 2024 was estimated to reach 898.4 trillion VND (35.2 billion USD), equivalent to 52.8% of the yearly estimate, representing a year-on-year rise of almost 15%, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
The completion of financial-budget tasks requires strong, creative and flexible efforts as well as high determination not only from the financial sector but all sectors, localities and especially people and businesses, stated Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc.
Total State budget collection in the first four months of this year was estimated at 640.29 trillion VND (25.20 billion USD), equivalent to 43% of the yearly projection, representing a year-on-year rise of 10.7%, according to the General Department of Taxation.
Hanoi has been assigned to collect over 408 trillion VND (16.8 billion USD) in State budget revenue estimates in 2024, the highest level in the country.
The State budget revenue of Hanoi as of December 28 topped 405.2 trillion VND (nearly 16.7 billion USD) or 114.8% of the projection, up 23.8% compared to the same period last year, according to the municipal Department of Finance.
Vietnam’s State budget collection in the first ten months of this year stood at 1.4 quadrillion VND ( 57 billion USD), accounting for 86.3% of the estimate, and down 9.2% year-on-year, the Ministry of Finance reported.
The Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) has maintained a high progress of production and business, with all targets overfulfilled by between 3 and 28%.
The total revenue to the State budget between January and July exceeded 1.01 quadrillion VND (42.53 billion USD), equaling 62.7% of the yearly estimate and dropping by 7.8% from the same period last year.
State budget collection in the first seven months of this year stood at 211.23 trillion VND (8.89 billon USD), equivalent to 49.7% of the estimate, down 19.6% year-on-year, the General Department of Vietnam Customs reported on August 3.
At the Government's teleconference with localities and the regular Cabinet meeting in Hanoi on July 4, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MoPI) presented two growth scenarios for the third quarter and the whole year 2023, indicating that the tasks for the remaining months of this year are heavy, with a growth rate of 8.0% or higher.
State budget collection of the northern province of Quang Ninh in the first half of 2023 reached 28 trillion VND (over 1.18 billion USD), equivalent to 53% of the estimate, and up 6% compared to the scenario.

State budget collection from export-import activities in the first two months stood at 56.33 trillion VND (2.37 billion USD), or 13.3% of the estimate, down 19.4% year-on-year, reported the General Department of Vietnam Customs (Vietnam Customs).
