State President hails all-round ties with Turkey

Triet told the Turkish top diplomat, who is in Vietnam to sign theASEAN’s Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC), that the two countriesshould make regular visits to each other at all levels in order to fullytap each country’s potential and facilitate cooperation in culture,education, science and technology.

Vietnam expected strong inflows of Turkish investors, emphasised the State leader.

Turkey has emerged as the second-largest trade partner ofVietnam in West Asia and the two countries are working hard to meet atarget of 1 billion USD in two-way trade revenues.

Vietnam highly respected efforts to strengthen relations withTurkey in all fields, Triet said after expressing thanks to the host ofCICA-2011 for supporting Vietnam attendance at the Conference onInteraction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).

He also emphasised Turkey ’s important position as a bridge to spanAsia and Europe as one of reasons to boost bilateral relations.

The Turkish diplomat made similar expressions, saying Vietnamplayed an important role in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) and was a rising star in Asia for its dynamic socio-economicgrowth and political stability in the recent past.

These are major reasons for Turkey to boost comprehensive relationswith Vietnam as well as cooperation and dialogues in the regionaland international arena, said Davutoglu.

Heexpressed strong belief that cooperative ties between the two countrieswould be of significant importance to strategic relations in Asia .

As a CICA member, Turkey ’s joining in TAC, which Davutoglu said waspartially thanks to the help of Vietnam in the role of ASEANpresident, would gather momentum for the West Asian country to boostties with the 10 member grouping.

President Trietis expected to visit Turkey one day as he accepted PresidentAbdullah Gul’s invitation conveyed by Davutoglu during the meeting.

He also asked the Turkish diplomat to convey his invitation to President Abdullah Gul for a State visit to Vietnam./.

The dispatch states that in implementing Conclusion No. 18-KL/TW dated April 2, 2026 of the 14th Party Central Committee on the 2026–2030 socio-economic development plan, national finance, public debt management and medium-term public investment, linked to the goal of achieving double-digit economic growth, the Government on April 29 issued 11 resolutions on cutting, decentralising and simplifying administrative procedures, business conditions, and conditional business lines. The Prime Minister subsequently directed ministries, agencies and localities to implement these resolutions.
