At his meetingwith Indonesian President Joko Widodo, he congratulated Indonesia onsuccessfully organising the Asian-African Conference (April 22-23) andthe World Economic Forum on East Asia (April 19-21), hailing thecountry’s role in spurring cooperation between Asia and Africa inpolitics, economics and social affairs.
The two Presidents sharedtheir delight in bilateral trade expansions that resulted in 5.4billion USD in 2014 and agreed to address existing bottlenecks to raisethe figure to 10 billion USD in 2018.

Meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahleb, President Sangaffirmed that Vietnam sees Egypt as a crucial partner in Africa andwishes to establish stronger partnerships in telecommunication, oil andgas, aquaculture, agriculture and healthcare towards bilateral trade of 1billion USD.
PM Ibrahim Mahleb said his country will send a delegation to Vietnam to discuss concrete measures for cooperation.
Duringa meeting with Palestinian PM Rami Hamdallah, President Sang reassertedVietnam’s consistent policy of respecting its traditional friendshipwith Palestine and supporting Palestinian people’s quest for theirfundamental national rights.
Prime Minister RamiHamdallah expressed his hope that the two countries’ growing politicalties would be mirrored in advantageous cooperative fields. He proposedincreasing connectivity in seafood industry human resources.
PresidentTruong Tan Sang and Japanese PM Shinzo Abe sought to deepen the twocountries’ extensive strategic partnership through the exchange ofhigh-level visits.
The Japanese PM pledged the provision ofhigh-level official development assistance together with support forVietnam’s sustainable development and increased competiveness, promisingto encourage Japanese businesses to increase technology transfer toVietnam.
President Sang shared hisdetermination with Cambodian PM Hun Sen to forge ahead with the soundbilateral friendship and multi-faceted cooperation for the sake of thetwo peoples and peace, stability, and development in Southeast Asia.
He and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Long concurred to employstronger measures to accelerate trade and actively prepare for thecommencement of the sixth and seventh Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parksin Vietnam.
Also on the sidelines of the conference, StatePresident Truong Tan Sang met with Lao Deputy Prime Minister and ForeignMinister Thoonglun Sisulith, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic ofKorea Hwang Woo Yea and Moroccan Foreign Minister Mbarka Bouaida.
Heattended the sixth plenary session and the closing ceremony the 2015Asian-African Conference, which promoted “the spirit of Bandung” andeconomic development on both continents through strengthened South-Southcooperation.
The two-dayconference brought together heads of government and state andrepresentatives from 109 countries and 25 international organisationsworldwide.-VNA
