Blue chips fell on the nation's stock market on October 30, pushing the VN-Index on the HCM Stock Exchange down 0.38 percent to conclude the session at 389.86 points.
Total value of trades was down 33 percent from a day earlier, reaching just 297.2 billion VND (14.2 million USD), of which 137.8 billion VND (6.6 million USD) came from transactions of top 30 shares.
Only three of the top 30 shares on the southern bourses climbed while 19 codes declined, driving the VN30 Index down 0.43 percent to 459.04.
Sluggish trading also depressed shares on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, with the HNX-Index down 0.95 percent to 53.13 points on a modest turnover of just 259.35 billion VND (8.1 million USD).
Foreign investors finished as net buyers on both stock exchanges, picking up a combined net buy of more than 5 billion VND (238,000 USD) worth of shares.-VNA
