The Immigration Bureau will alsobring in more personnel from provincial airports to assist with theairport’s security clearance. The bureau aims to process a passenger’spassport in 28 seconds, compared to an average of 45 seconds at present.
Suvarnabhumi airport Director Somchai Sawasdipolsaid the airport is determined to reduce the delay in passport checks.The airport, in collaboration with the Immigration Bureau, is nowassigning 80-90 percent of their staff to man the counters to ensuresmoother operations and services.
The Royal Thai police have also dispatched 40 police women to help passengers fill up immigration forms and documents.
