To improve supplies, the province is investing in two new water supply complexes: Cua Can Reservoir and Water Plant, and Duong Dong 2 Reservoir and Water Plant. The two plants will have a combined capacity of 86,000 cu.m per day.

A shortage of clean water has affected residents, restaurants, offices and businesses in several parts of Hanoi due to a broken pipeline from the Da River Water Supply Plant.
