Indonesian police have arrested two Indian nationals in an investigation into a suspected network that processed illegally mined gold in Jakarta before smuggling it overseas, including to Dubai, reported the Jakarta Globe.

The Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency on December 27 prosecuted two cases and launched legal proceedings against 19 suspects for allegedly involving in smuggling tonnes of gold from Cambodia and China to Vietnam.

The People’s Court of southern An Giang province on March 30 sentenced a 51-year-old Cambodian to six years in jail for illegally transporting 18 kilograms of gold from Cambodia to Vietnam.
