Developed under a strategic cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese and Japanese governments, the nearly 1,000-hectare industrial park is expected to become the city's first eco-industrial park under the country's new regulatory framework.

National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan paid a working visit to the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on July 22, during which she visited families of contributors to the revolution as well as a number of businesses.

The southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau is working to draw more investment from Japan as it defined the country as one of its future strategic investors, said the provincial Department of Planning and Investment.

Vina-Japan Shirogane Logistics Company Ltd on July 19 broke ground for a 5.4 million USD logistics centre at the Phu My 3 Specialised Industrial Park in the southern province of Ba Ria–Vung Tau.
