Under the sweltering early-summer sun of Hue, Tinh Tam Lake, nestled within the ancient Imperial Citadel, is entering its most beautiful season of the year. Viewed from above, the landscape resembles an ink-wash painting, at once tranquil and poetic. The lush green of broad lotus leaves blends with the pure white of thousands of blossoms opening across the lake.

White lotuses are at their beautiful best at Tinh Tam Lake, known as the Royal Palace Garden of the Nguyen Dynasty, the last feudal dynasty in Vietnam.

The central province of Thua Thien-Hue kicked off the Lotus Festival 2018 themed “Legend of a flower” on June 29, as part of a series of activities to promote Hue, a festival city of Vietnam.
