The Vietnam Post and Telecom Group (VNPT) on Oct. 10 installed a Base Transceiver Station (BTS) to provide broad band internet and television services using Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology.
According to VNPT, the new BTS has been the first of its kind in Vietnam and Southeast Asia applying this technology, which allows customers to access internet at a speed of 60Mbps and online entertainment services.
The trial run for the LTE BTS is expected to be completed in two weeks to serve the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit scheduled for Oct. 26-28 in Hanoi./.
