Representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City-based University of Technical Education (UTE) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the US’s Texas Tech University (TTU), establishing a cooperative programme on undergraduate education.
The deal will allow qualified students from UTE to obtain a bachelor’s degree from the US university in the fields of industrial engineering, computer science, finance and banking and business administration.
Under the deal, students would complete predetermined courses in Vietnam and then transfer to TTU to finish their degrees.
As the leading technical education institution and one of 200 vocational training institutions in Vietnam, UTE seeks to raise the percentage of educated labour force in Vietnam by 40 percent in 2010./.
