Thai export growth estimate raised to 20 percent

Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce has adjusted its estimation of Thai export for this year to no less than 20 percent thanks to the reviving global economy and growing exports to many countries.
Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce has adjusted its estimation of Thaiexport for this year to no less than 20 percent thanks to the revivingglobal economy and growing exports to many countries.

Accordingto Commerce Minister Pornthiva Nakasai, export growth is projected tostand at more than 20 percent by year's end, with a value of 183 billionUSD. The sector was previously expected to rise by 19 percent.

Tradeacross the region has shown growth. Exports from Thailand to the USare likely to rise from 12 percent to 20 percent, China from 30percent to 50 percent and within the ASEAN region from 27.3 percent to30 percent.

The ambitious estimation of more than 20 percentgrowth comes after the Department of Export Promotion resolved to launchmore marketing activities in the latter half of this year to bolsterongoing economic recovery.

Emphasis will be put towards Asiancountries such as China , Japan , India , and ASEAN, as well asother countries with strong potential for economic development./.

Vietnam calls for stronger ASEAN unity, resilience

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang urged ASEAN to make full use of existing mechanisms to enhance dialogue, build trust and prevent risks and conflicts, particularly by strengthening the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon-Free Zone Treaty (SEANWFZ), and cooperation based on international law.

Vietnam steps up trade, investment promotion at China-ASEAN Expo

According to the CAEXPO Secretariat, Vietnam will once again lease an entire exhibition area of about 3,000sq.m, featuring 170 booths, making it one of the ASEAN countries with the largest exhibition spaces at this year’s event. Nearly 100 Vietnamese businesses have confirmed their participation, including major brands such as Trung Nguyen Group, TH Group, Saigon Coffee and Biti’s.

Vietnam reaffirms commitment to building resilient, inclusive and integrated ASEAN Labour Market

To this end, Vietnam proposed three strategic priorities for ASEAN cooperation. First, ASEAN should expand and harmonise mutual recognition mechanisms by increasing the scope and number of Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRAs) in the region; and promote the role of the ASEAN TVET Council (ATC) in connecting national skills certification systems with regional and global standards, based on national occupational skills qualification frameworks and regional references.
