The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has held "Myanmar Insight Seminar" for local investors who are interested in doing business in Myanmar, aiming to increase the competitiveness of these entrepreneurs.
Deputy Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai chaired the August 17 event which was a joint effort between the government and the private sector.
The seminar’s goals included giving a stage for veteran Thai business operators in Myanmar to exchange their experiences and information, strengthening their operations, and laying down investment plans in the neighboring country for Thai investors.
The seminar also explained to local investors the future directions and investment opportunities in Myanmar during the transition from the current government to the next administration at the end of this year.
According to the deputy minister, Myanmar's government is processing various projects related to communication, trade, services, logistics and special economic zones. Most of these projects have drawn interest from foreign investors, including Thai business people.
It was the organiser's objective to prepare the participants in the seminar in planning business ventures abroad.-VNA
