In the former imperial capital of Hue, the Ngo Mon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, and Tu Duc’s Tomb, with their gracefully curved glazed-tile roofs mirrored in the Perfume River, still retain the majesty of the royal court, recalling a golden era of the nation.
This milestone was celebrated on April 20, marking the first time a UNESCO world heritage site in Vietnam has met Green Building standards.
Thai Hoa Palace (the Palace of Supreme Harmony), part of the Complex of Hue Monuments, a UNESCO-recognised world cultural heritage in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, will be opened to tourists on November 23, months earlier than scheduled, according to Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre Hoang Viet Trung.
