Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – Thailand’s provinces have organised activities to mark the 120th anniversary of the birth of the late Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra (October 21).
Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha on October 21 presided over an event to commemorate the Princess at the Princess Mother Memorial Park in Khlong San district, Bangkok.
Gen. Prayut, together with cabinet ministers and their spouses, attended the ceremony to mark the 120th anniversary of the birth of the late Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra. The ceremony was attended by the President of the National Assembly, the President of the Supreme Court, heads of constitutional organisations and their spouses.
During the ceremony, the Prime Minister and his wife laid a wreath before the statue of Princess Srinagarindra. Deputy Prime Minister Prof. Dr. Wissanu Krea-ngam then planted an Indian cork tree, to mark the National Annual Tree Care Day, which was initiated from the royal wish of Princess Srinagarindra.
Commemorative activities are taking place, from October 21 to November 1 this year, at an exhibition organised by the Thanyarak Foundation under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra. The event features a presentation of Princess Srinagarindra’s life. Visitors are invited to donate books at the event. The books will be given to Border Patrol Police schools, schools in remote areas and libraries nationwide./.
