Bangkok (VNA) – Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha will pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain on April 24-26, aiming to deepen economic and trade relations between the two countries.

The visit is made at the invitation of his Bahrain counterpart, Khalifa bin Salma Al Khalifa, the Government of Thailand announced on April 12.

The two prime ministers plan to chalk out measures to remove barriers in their bilateral trade and investment. The Thai Ministry of Commerce will propose Bahrain to consider importing halal food into the country and open doors to medical tourism service providers from Thailand.

Thailand, in return, will support Bahrain’s imports of energy and bridge the Persian Gulf nation with ASEAN countries and the bloc’s partners like Australia, New Zealand, China, India, Japan and the Republic of Korea.

Bahrain will play a similar role to help Thailand make inroads into South African, South Asian and Central Asian markets.-VNA
