Thailand’s Tourist Police Division has just launched its LINE official account under the Community Policing Project to provide travel information via social media network and enhance cooperation between police and visitors.
The project was created to build confidence in Thai tourism, in which foreign visitors could use LINE app as a news and information channel on tourism. It also offers a two-way communication between government sectors and tourists to help protect them against crime.
LINE app is a popular mobile software in Thailand with 29 million users. It is expected that LINE official account will allow police to get contact with visitors directly and help lessen and prevent crimes against them, according to the Tourist Police Division.
The account also gives visitors a better impression of Thailand and supports a good image of the country, a key part of the Community Policing project, it said.-VNA
