Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - Schools and fishing activity in southern Songkhla province are returning to normal following Tropical Storm Pabuk.

Vessels, large and small, at Songkha Pier have begun loading their boats with ice tanks, fishing equipment and crew supplies after winds and ocean conditions returned to normal. Meanwhile, over 200 schools in the province's 1st and 3rd educational district, which temporarily closed during the storm, are now back in session to catch up with lost school time.

In Nakhon Si Thammarat province, the Shipbuilding Industry and Technology College, which has served as a shelter during the storm, is handing out 2,000 sets of food and water to evacuees and has dispatched a mobile food truck and plumbing vehicle to the surrounding area.

In Prachuap Khiri Khan province, volunteers from His Majesty the King's Altruistic Heart program have conducted a major cleanup of Mae Ramphueng Beach in Bang Saphan District.

Following the return to normality in Satun, the province is hosting its famous beachside run along the coast of Tanyongpo Subdistrict. The area's long sand dunes dotted with sparkling sea shells have gained the nickname "Dragon Spine." – NNT/VNA
