Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand police on June 9 evening successfully removed a bomb-like object near Novotel hotel within the compound of Suvarnabhumi Airport in the capital city of Bangkok.
Earlier, the hotel’s staff discovered the object, which was described as a clear plastic bottle with two live cellphones inside connected to batteries.
An explosive ordnance disposal squad was called in to handle the object. However, no other details are available.
In an earlier relevant development, Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on June 7 advised Singaporeans travelling to or staying in Thailand in June to exercise vigilance.
The MFA’s warning also said Singaporeans should keep an eye on the latest information and heed the instructions of local authorities.-VNA
