Bangkok(VNA/NNT) - Thailand’s Deputy ForeignMinister Virasakdi Futrakul has co-chaired the second Thailand - Japan HighLevel Joint Commission with Hiroto Izumi, Special Advisor to the Japanese PrimeMinister.
During the meeting, thedeputy minister suggested the commission revisit and support cooperationbetween Thailand and Japan, on the occasion of their 130-year anniversary ofdiplomatic relations next year.
Both sides are aiming toboost cooperation on economy, trade and investment, human resourcesdevelopment, infrastructure, agriculture, coal energy, and the Dawei SpecialEconomic Zone.
Deputy minister Virasakdialso emphasizes the importance of building infrastructure that will connect theCLMVT with India.
The high-level meetingwas initiated following Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak's visit toJapan in November 2015.-VNA/NNT
