Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongloun Sisoulith has met Thai Premier Yingluck Shinawatra to discuss trade cooperation and infrastructure projects.
Yingluck welcomed Deputy PM Thongloun at the Government House and congratulated Laos on the two countries' meeting on trade cooperation and infrastructure projects, especially ones connecting the two neighbours, such as the Thai-Laos Friendship bridges.
The Thai Premier told the Lao guest that the Thai government is ready to support investors who are keen on investing in Laos , with the focus on green businesses. She said she hoped Laos will do the same thing.
Yingluck also invited the Lao Deputy PM to join the 2nd Asia-Pacific Joint Conference, which will be held in Chiang Mai in May.
Meanwhile, Thongloun complimented the Thai government on its effort to connect with Laos , helping two-way trade increase to 5 billion USD a year. He also said that Laos is willing to work with Thailand in every aspect to move both countries forward.-VNA
