Thailand has pledged to push for closer cooperation and regionaldevelopment within its neighbours ahead of the emergence of the ASEANEconomic Community (AEC) in 2015.
Prime MinisterYingluck Shinawatra on March 13 attended the 5th Ayeyawady-ChaoPhraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) meeting held inVientiane , Laos .
Yingluck joined leaders from otherACMECS countries to discuss various issues related to jointcollaboration and ACMECS 2013-2015 action plan.
In herclosing speech, she stated that ACMECS nations are now enjoyingattention from the international community due to the economic potentialthis sub-region has to offer.
The Premier also reiteratedThailand’s 15-billion-baht financial support to promote trade,investment and tourism in the region.-VNA
