Hanoi (VNA) – Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak has called on foreign investors, including those from China, to keep calm as the nation’s political situation will be stable after its general election in 2017.

He made the call at an investment conference held in Shanghai, China, on June 29 by the Board of Investment (BOI) of Thailand and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

He affirmed that the Thai Government will continue carrying out preferential policies to attract more foreign investors in the time ahead.

Earlier, at a meeting with the Bank of Thailand, the Deputy PM said that the country will not be seriously affected by changes from Britain’s exit from the European Union.

It will maintain a forecast export growth of 5 percent in 2016, he added.-VNA
