Bangkok (VNA) - Marines of Thailand, the Republic of Korea (RoK) and the US conducted an amphibious assault exercise at Hat Yao Beach in Thailand's southeastern province of Chon Buri on February 16.

The drill was part of the annual Cobra Gold, one of the largest military exercises in Asia that is taking place from February 12-22.

This year's exercise consists of three primary events: military field training, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief training.

Peter Haymond, acting charge d’affaires of the US in Thailand, said the exercise aims to strengthen cooperation and security interaction between countries in the Indo-Pacific region. -VNA
