Bangkok (VNA/NNT) – Thailand will host the 11th World Conference of The International Ombudsman Institute in Bangkok from November 13 - 19.
The conference is expected to see 114 organisations from around the world, allowing ombudsman bodies to exchange experiences and new ideas for efficient implementation and enhance foreign relations.
Thailand’s Office of the Ombudsman, the organiser, will present case studies where the rights of the people were successful protected. It will also gather input on how Thailand can improve its complaints system.
The opening ceremony will take place on November 16, featuring a key conference on the evolution of the ombudsman. Discussions on many topics will also take place, including crisis management, freedom of information, and working with the media.
The conference is hosted in rotation among participating countries every four years. The previous World Conference of The International Ombudsman Institute was held in New Zealand in 2012.-VNA/NNT
