At the signing ceremony (Photo: nwnt.prd.go.th) Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) and leading institutions in the country have banded together to develop cyper security personnel for the Thailand 4.0 digital era.
Deputy Executive Director of the ETDA Chaichana Mitrpant has signed a memorandum of understanding on IT human resource development with representatives of Thammasat University, Mahidol University, the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Kasetsart University.
The signatories plan to produce 12,000 specialists in cyber security within four years. A target of 1,000 specialists has been set for 2018. In Thailand, there are more than 3,000 cases of computer-related crimes, most of which occur to computer systems and internet users. The risk of online scams grows alongside the expansion of online business activities.
Since early this year, the ETDA has been organising workshops on cyber security for more than 300 personnel. The number of internet crime busters has yet to meet the market demand. It is estimated that around 3.5 million cyber security experts will be in demand worldwide by 2021.-VNA
