- Thailand reported a daily record of 15,376 new COVID-19 cases on July 26 morning, taking the country's accumulated caseload to over half a million.

The nation’s Public Health Ministry also announced 87 new fatalities linked to the virus, hence a death toll of 4,146.

The volume of COVID-19 infections in Bangkok is likely to decline in the next four to six weeks, according to the Department of Disease Control (DDC).

Chakkarat Pittayawong-anont, director of the epidemiology division at the DDC, said Thailand is expected to see more COVID-19 cases in the provinces including family transmission and those who return home for care and treatment.

He said the situation in Bangkok is different from the surrounding provinces, adding that despite a rise in cases, the vaccination rate here is relatively high at 50 percent./.
