Prof. Phan Huy Le, President of the Vietnam History Society chaired a seminar on the formation and development history of Thang Long Citadel in Paris on Sept. 29.
The seminar, organised by the French School of the Far East (EFEO), drew the participation of many French historians, Vietnamese study experts and Vietnamese people in France .
At the event, Prof. Le, a member of the Academie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres (AIBL) ( Academy of Inscriptions and Beautiful Literature) presented the results of archaeological excavations that have been conducted since 2002, highlighting the uniqueness of the architecture and decoration of the Thang Long Citadel.
During his working visit to France , Prof. Le will also deliver have a lecture on the rural society and history of Vietnam through periods at the Institute of France .
In July 2011, Prof. Le was elected as a foreign correspondent member of the Academie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres (AIBL), one of the five prestigious academies of the Institute of France ./.
