A whale carcass weighing more than 10 tonnes was found washed up on the shore of Tien Thang village of Quang Xuong district in the north central province of Thanh Hoa on January 27.

Thanh Hoa (VNA) – A whale carcass weighing morethan 10 tonnes was found washed up on the shore of Tien Thang village of QuangXuong district in the north central province of Thanh Hoa on January 27.

The carcass, about 7 metres in length, was in the process ofdecomposition, with its head detached.

Local fishermen brought the carcass for burial later on theday.

Vietnamese coastal residents believe whale is a sacredanimal that helps fishermen at sea. Therefore, they often rescue the animal orbury the dead ones in a solemn ceremony./.

Singer, media executive charged over YouTube music copyright infringement

The Investigation Police Agency under the municipal Public Security Department said on August 5 that it had prosecuted and placed in temporary detention Nguyen Thi Hien, owner of the YouTube channel Phuong Diem Huyen, and Nguyen Thanh Hiep, Director of Unicorn Vietnam Media and Entertainment Co., Ltd., for investigation on the charge of infringing copyright and related rights under Article 225 of Vietnam's Penal Code.
