HCM City (VNA) – “The Steps Challenge 2019” – asocial event aiming to bringappropriate care and special education to children with autism in Vietnam – isscheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City on May 25, announced the organiserson April 17.
Withinsix weeks prior to the event, the organisers – the Saigonchildren andCapitaLand Vietnam, will launcha communications campaign to collect 100 million steps from supporters at ahope of raising awareness of autism in children.
Chen Lian Pang, CEO of CapitaLand Vietnam, said he believes that everychild has the potential for greatness which, if built upon, can in returnbenefit their communities.
He declared that CapitaLandVietnam commits to support the community in social activities, especially thoseto assist children with autism.
CapitaLandHope Foundation, CapitaLand’s philanthropic arm, has pledged to donate 580million VND (nearly 25,000 USD) if participants can together reach 10 millionsteps in one hour from the beginning of the event, he revealed.
Meanwhile,VJ Dustin Phuc Nguyen, the ambassador of The Steps Challenge, said thatthe event is a chance for the community to get better understanding of autism,thus joining hands in giving children with this a fairer start.-VNA
