Third Int’l book fair opens in Hanoi

The third Vietnam International Book Fair with the theme “1,000 years of Thang Long-Hanoi”  has opened in Hanoi.
The third Vietnam International Book Fair with the theme “1,000 years of Thang Long-Hanoi” opened on September 17 in Hanoi.

Attending the event were To Huy Rua, head of the Party CentralCommission for Information and Education, Pham Quang Nghi, Secretary ofHanoi municipal Party Committee, Le Doan Hop, Minister of Informationand Communications along with officials from departments and publishingbusinesses.

Speaking at the ceremony, Do Quy Doan,Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, head of organisingboard said that this book fair is the largest ever in Vietnam, helpingVietnamese publishing houses expand cooperation with internationalcounterparts.

109 domestic and foreign publishinghouses and distributors brought thousands of quality books to the fair,especially the Frankfurt centre for international book fairs andexhibitions was also present with over 800 book titles from Germanpublishers./.

Golf tournament marks 50 years of Vietnam–Germany ties

The annual event, aimed at strengthening ties between the Vietnamese community and German friends, gathered over 100 golfers, including the Vietnamese Embassy staff, Lao Ambassador Mayboua Xayavong, representatives from the Japanese Embassy, German friends, sponsors, and others from golf clubs across the country.

Vietnamese culture highlighted at EU Open Day

As a honorary guest at the event for the first time, Vietnam presented a unique cultural and art performance programme, bringing overseas Vietnamese closer to their homeland. Each note stirred memories of vast rice fields, winding rivers, ancient village temples, and sweet lullabies.

Currently, Muong Lay has 1,192 households living in traditional stilt houses out of a total of 3,198 families, with a stilt house density of approximately 10.58 houses per square kilometre, significantly higher than in other areas with White Thai populations.

Vietnam Festival in Japan to take place on May 31 and June 1

Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu, who is co-chair of the organising committee, noted that with 17 editions to date, the Vietnam Festival at the Yoyogi Park has become a hallmark of cultural exchange, eagerly anticipated each year by Japanese friends and the Vietnamese community living in Japan.
