The third Vietnam International Book Fair with the theme “1,000 years of Thang Long-Hanoi” opened on September 17 in Hanoi.
Attending the event were To Huy Rua, head of the Party Central Commission for Information and Education, Pham Quang Nghi, Secretary of Hanoi municipal Party Committee, Le Doan Hop, Minister of Information and Communications along with officials from departments and publishing businesses.
Speaking at the ceremony, Do Quy Doan, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, head of organising board said that this book fair is the largest ever in Vietnam, helping Vietnamese publishing houses expand cooperation with international counterparts.
109 domestic and foreign publishing houses and distributors brought thousands of quality books to the fair, especially the Frankfurt centre for international book fairs and exhibitions was also present with over 800 book titles from German publishers./.
