Sea tours and eco-tourism programmes run by central Thua-Thien Hue province have attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists on the holidays of National Liberation Day (April 30) and May Day.
Participating in a tour to discover Tam Giang lagoon during the three-day “Tam Giang Waves” festival in Quang Dien district, tourists were able to contemplate charming landscapes and taste local cuisine.
Truc Lam Bach Ma Zen monastery, the Huyen Tran Cultural Centre and Hue’s Garden Houses are among the ecotourism sites that have become attractive destinations in the eyes of visitors.
Also proving popular is a tour called “the central Vietnam heritage road”, connecting Hue with Hanoi, Sa Pa (Lao Cai province) and Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh province).
On the occasion, many tourism companies in the province have actively been giving a 20-percent discount on tickets to local relic sites and 50 percent for Nha Nhac (Royal Music) performances, in a bid to help lure more tourists.
In April alone, the sector earned over 277 billion VND (over 13 million USD) in revenue from receiving more than 332,100 tourist arrivals, including 143,640 from abroad, up 24 percent.-VNA
