Thua Thien – Hue (VNA) – The centralprovince of Thua Thien – Hue welcomed nearly 3.4 million visitors in the first eightmonths of this year, over 1.43 million of them were foreigners, up 8.7 percentannually.

The province earned around 3.3 trillion VND (143.4million USD) in tourism revenue, marking a year-on-year rise of 9 percent.

The Hue Monuments Conservation Centre will be openfree for domestic travelers, from 7am to 5pm on National Day (September 2).

A series of activities will be held on the occasionof the National Day, such as music performances at various sites, andre-enactment of royal games and activities.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s CommitteeNguyen Dung said the province attracted about 400,000 visitors during the April20 and May 1 holiday this year, 135,000 of them stayed overnight, up 11 percentannually.

The province is now home to seven tangible andintangible cultural heritages of humanity.-VNA

Tourist train linking Phong Nha and Hue heritage sites launched

The 190-km route runs between Hue, Dong Ha, My Trach, Dong Hoi and Tho Loc stations, giving travellers access to destinations including the Complex of Hue Monuments, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, Vinh Moc Tunnels, Hien Luong–Ben Hai historical site and Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.

Tourism ready for National Day holiday, eyes year-end acceleration

A range of cultural and artistic activities will be held during the holiday. In Da Nang, the “Hoi An Memories” show will present its “Flag Hat” version from August 26 to September 2. Phu Quoc will host the “The Memory of Flowers” exhibition, while Thanh Hoa will organise the Sam Son Kite Festival 2026 from August 30 to September 1.
