Timor-Leste PM concludes official visit to Vietnam

Earlier the same day, the Timor-Leste PM had a meeting with Chairwoman of the HCM City People’s Council Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam.

Chairwoman Tam briefed the guest on the city’s socio-economic situation while voicing her hope that his visit will create a turning point to boost multifaceted cooperation between both countries and between HCM City and Timor-Leste in particular.

Expressing his admiration for HCM City’s healthy growth, Gusmao spoke highly of the city’s role in Vietnam and said Timor-Leste is willing to learn from Ho Chi Minh City’s experience in the management and organisation of authority apparatus.

During his stay in Vietnam, PM Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung and met with President Truong Tan Sang and National Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

The two countries signed a trade agreement during the visit, which serves as an important legal foundation for them to further their economic-trade ties.-VNA
