A senior level delegation from the General Political Department of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) held talks with their Vietnamese counterparts at the Ministry of Defence’s headquarters in Hanoi on May 26.
During the talks, General Le Van Dung, general director of the General Politics Department of the Vietnam People’s Army, expressed his belief that the Chinese delegation’s official trip to Vietnam would help to strengthen mutual understanding and promote the traditional friendship and cooperative relationship between the two armies and peoples.
Both parties briefed each other on the political, socio-economic and defence and security situation in their respective countries and agreed to enhance relations and cooperation between the two peoples and armies.
Later the same day, the Chinese delegation led by Senior Lieutenant General Li Jinai, who is director general of the PLA General Political Department, paid a courtesy call on Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh./.
