Top legislator expresses sympathy over death of Fiji Parliament Speaker

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has sent a message of condolences to the Parliament and people of the Republic of Fiji over the death of the Parliament’s Speaker Jiko Fatafehi Luveni.

Hanoi (VNA) – NationalAssembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has sent a message of condolences to theParliament and people of the Republic of Fiji over the death of theParliament’s Speaker Jiko Fatafehi Luveni.

The Office of the Secretary-General to theParliament announced the passing of the Speaker on December 22.

Jiko Fatafehi Luveni visited Vietnam in January 2018 to attend the 26th Annual Meeting of the Asia-PacificParliamentary Forum (APPF-26) in Hanoi.

During her meeting with NA Chairwoman Ngan, she expressed her wish that the twocountries and their parliaments will increase cooperation and continue withtheir mutual support at international forums and organisations, while promotingpeople-to-people exchange. -VNA
