Tourism market busy ahead of Tet holiday

This year’s long Lunar New Year (Tet) holidays have made for a busy tourism market, with higher sales in tours both inside the country and abroad.

Hanoi (VNA) – This year’s long Lunar New Year (Tet) holidays have made fora busy tourism market, with higher sales in tours both inside the country andabroad.

Accordingto domestic travel firms, they have so far nearly completed their sale plansfor the upcoming nine-day Tet holiday, with customers mostly young families.

Thisyear, their sales are estimated to increase 30 percent over the same time in2018, with tours combining hotel bookings and entertainment tickets a big hit.

Themost popular domestic destinations during the holiday include warm areas in thecentral and southern region such as Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang and Hoi An.

Thisyear, a large number of foreign tours have been booked, mostly to Japan, theRepublic of Korea, Taiwan (China) and China, along with other destinations suchas Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Bhutan and India.

VietravelHanoi Vice Director Pham Van Bay said this year, the prices of tours have beenkept unchanged or only increased slightly.

Hesaid that since November 2018, the company has offered more than 300 domesticand foreign Tet tours to increase choices for customers.

Diversepromotion programmes have been offered by travel firms. Saigontourist haslaunched a “golden week” with 10 million VND discounts for long tours abroad, ora reduction of 500,000 VND for each customer for Tet tours.

Meanwhile,HanoiRedtours has designed special tours targeting youngsters and office workerswith easy routes through famous destinations at home and abroad. At the sametime, customers of Fiditour will receive total promotion value of up to 4million VND until January 25.

Toensure safety for travellers abroad, travel firms advised them to bewell-prepared for their tours and strictly abide by the law of the host countryand follow guidance of tour guides.-VNA

Da Nang greets over 2.72 million visitors during DIFF 2026

On July 11, the day of the DIFF 2026 finale, accommodation establishments in the city served about 131,000 visitors, an increase of 16% from a year earlier. International visitors totalled 52,400, up 27% year-on-year, while domestic visitors reached 78,600, an increase of nearly 10%.
