This year’s long Lunar New Year holidays have made for a busy tourism market, with higher sales in tours both inside the country and abroad.

According to domestic travel firms, they have so far nearly completed their sale plans for the upcoming nine-day Tet holiday, with customers mostly young families.

This year, their sales are estimated to increase 30 percent over the same time in 2018, with tours combining hotel bookings and entertainment tickets a big hit.

The most popular domestic destinations during the holiday include warm areas in the central and southern region such as Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang and Hoi An.

This year, a large number of foreign tours have been booked, mostly to Japan, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China) and China.

To ensure safety for travellers abroad, travel firms advised them to be well-prepared for their tours and strictly abide by the law of the host country.-VNA
