Tens of thousands of tourists flocked to renowned tourism sites across the country during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
During the first six days of the Year of the Horse, some 39,000 tourists visited President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum in Hanoi, more than 16,400 of whom were international visitors.
Meanwhile in the stunning mountain resort town of Sa Pa, northern Lao Cai province, nearly 22,000 visitors including 1,500 foreigners enjoyed a cool and refreshing atmosphere and the unique Tet celebrations of the ethnic minorities.
As many as 55,000 visitors came to the renowned tourism destinations over the first month of 2014.
From January 31 to February 4, the Temple of Literature - the first university in Vietnam - greeted around 10,000 people who came to sightsee and honour the country’s heralded academics and scholars.-VNA
